How CBD Oil Reduces Inflammation

Cannabinoids apparently act on inflammation through mechanisms different from those of agents such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Cannabinoids such as CBD are generally free from the adverse effects associated with NSAIDs and can provide a new approach to treatment of acute and chronic inflammation and fibrosis.

Cannabidiol (CBD) has been shown to exert potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects and has recently been reported to lower the incidence of diabetes in nonobese diabetic mice. CBD, which has recently been approved for the treatment of inflammation, pain, and spasticity associated with multiple sclerosis in humans, may have significant therapeutic benefits against diabetic complications and atherosclerosis.

Acute lung injury is an inflammatory condition for which treatment is mainly supportive because effective therapies have not been developed. This study shows that CBD Oil has anti-inflammatory effects in a murine model of acute lung injury

Hemp CBD Oil may protect against kidney damage resulting from the use of Cisplatin, a chemotherapy agent. Treatment of mice with cannabidiol improved renal function and reduced the oxidative stress, inflammation, and cell death in the kidney after being injected with Cisplatin.

Diabetic retinopathy is a leading cause of blindness among working-age adults. Despite many years of research, treatment options for diabetic retinopathy remain limited and with adverse effects.
